While Hydro Fehérvár AV19 started the new win2day ICE Hockey League season with a commanding victory on Friday, HCB Südtirol Alperia suffered a defeat on their season premiere. This trend continued 24 hours later for both teams - in the only Saturday match of the win2day ICE Hockey League. At first things still looked good for the hosts from South Tyrol: Dustin Gazley captured the lead in the 13th minute and inflicted Fehérvár keeper Olivier Roy's first goal of the season. The Foxes managed the lead until the final period and even had one or two chances to make it 2-0. The Hungarians were much more cool-headed and equalized in the 47th minute in the person of Anze Kuralt. Inspired by this goal, the guests immediately added to their tally and scored less than 100 seconds later to make it 2-1 through Balint Magosi, who then also scored an empty netter to decide the game. With two wins from two games Fehèrvar leads the table at the moment. But tomorrow, Sunday, five more matches are scheduled in the second round of the win2day ICE Hockey League.
