After a road trip last weekend, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 will play its first home game in the new Alba Aréna on Friday. The guest at the premiere is the EC-KAC, which has already been in action three times and is in second place in the table with six points. A total of 6.000 fans have place in Fehérvár's new arena. After the premiere, there will be an auction in which numerous pucks, such as pucks with which a goal was scored, will be auctioned off. The Hungarians have started the season with one win and one defeat. They have been waiting for a win against Klagenfurt since January 17, 2023. The last time Fehérvár beat the KAC in front of a home crowd was on November 20, 2022. At the KAC, all eyes are currently on new signing Mathias From. The 26-year-old Danish winger has already scored five goals in his first three games for Klagenfurt, making it one of the best starts in the 25-year history of the win2day ICE Hockey League. All information and an interview with Mathias From can be found here.

Linz hosts Vienna and Villach visits Graz
Friday also sees a clash between Steinbach Black Wings Linz and the spusu Vienna Capitals. The Upper Austrians had a weak start to the season and were beaten 5:0 by both Bolzano and the KAC. The Austrian capital first conceded a narrow 1:2 home defeat against Graz to open the season, before winning 3:2 in Villach two days later. The Capitals were beaten by the Black Wings in three of their four encounters last season. A pre-game interview with Dominic Hackl (VIC) can be found here.

There will also be a big game in Graz. The still unbeaten Moser Medical Graz99ers will host the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. The team from Villach were narrowly beaten 2:3 in both games on the opening weekend and are still waiting for their first points. Friday will be the 99ers' first home game of the season. Last week, the Styrians played in Vienna (2:1) and Innsbruck (4:2). Graz's last home win against Villach was on October 28, 2022. It was also the Styrians' last victory over the Carinthians. In the preseason, however, Graz won 7:2 in Villach.

Home games for league leader Bolzano and Pustertal
Both South Tyrolean teams play at home in the third round. While league leader HCB Südtirol Alperia host the Pioneers Vorarlberg, HC Pustertal, who are still winless, face the HC TIWAG Innsbruck. This will be Bolzano's third home game of the season. After a 5:0 opening win against Linz, the “Foxes” also won the derby against Pustertal with 5:2. The Pioneers first lost the derby at Innsbruck (1:3) before beating Fehérvár 4:3 at home. The team from Vorarlberg won three out of four duels against Bolzano last season.

Pustertal also celebrated three wins against Innsbruck last season. However, the “Wolves” have yet problems and lost both to Fehérvár and Bolzano with 2:5. Innsbruck first won against the Pioneers and then lost against Graz. The “Sharks” played both games at home. In the sixth and last match on Friday, Olimpija Ljubljana will face Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. The Slovenians are in fourth place in the table with five points after two games, while Asiago have only played once and were narrowly beaten 3:4 by champion Salzburg. The two teams have already faced each other in the preseason. Olimpija won 5:2 at home.
