Hydro Fehérvár AV19 were clearly beaten 0:7 by Dynamo Pardubice from the Czech Extraliga in their Champions Hockey League opener. Two internal league test games also took place on Thursday. HCB Südtirol Alperia clearly defeated HC TIWAG Innsbruck 10:0 and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey won 4:2 at HC Pustertal.

Fehérvár had the worst possible start in the first Champions Hockey League game of the season. After just thirteen seconds, Tim Campbell was given a game-misconduct penalty for an illegal check to the head. Pardubice promptly took advantage of the powerplay and took the lead after 42 seconds. The Czechs increased their lead to 2:0 after five minutes and the hosts also scored twice in the middle period. Shortly before the end of the second period, with Anze Kuralt a second AVS player got a game-misconduct penalty. This time due to an interference. In the final period, last year's Czech Extraliga finalist quickly made everything clear, pulling away to 6:0 within six minutes. In the end, Dynamo Pardubice celebrated a never-threatened 7:0 opening victory. Two Pardubice players, Lukas Sedlak and Martin Kaut, scored twice. Fehérvár continues its CHL journey with another away game in the Czech Republic. On Saturday, the Hungarian team will face top club Sparta Prague.

Test game wins for Bolzano and Asiago
HCB Südtirol Alperia and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey prevailed in league test games on Thursday evening. Bolzano gave HC TIWAG Innsbruck no chance at home and celebrated a brilliant 10:0 victory. HCB scored three times in the first and second periods. The South Tyroleans added another four goals in the final period. Giordano Finoro, Adam Helewka and Daniel Frank scored twice. Asiago also beat HC Pustertal 4:2. After a goalless first period, Asiago took a 2:1 lead in the second. In the final period, the Italians first increased the lead to 3:1 before Pustertal managed to score the 2:3. The visitors finally scored 79 seconds before the end of the game to make it 4:2 and thus decide the game.
