Feldkirch advances in fight for home advantage in pre-playoffs

In Tuesday’s lone Alps Hockey League game the VEU Feldkirch celebrated a 3:1 home victory over SHC Fassa Falcons. The team from Vorarlberg moved up from tenth to eighth place ahead of the final gameday of Tuesday’s last round in regular season - and has a good starting position for the final showdown for home advantage in the pre-playoffs.

After the 4:3 victory on Saturday, VEU Feldkirch also prevailed "back-to-back" against SHC Fassa Falcons on Tuesday, winning 3:1 at home and holding a one-point advantage over Lustenau and two over Val Gardena in the fight for home advantage in the pre-playoffs before the final regular season gameday. Feldkirch opened the game with a lot of offensive power, produced 18 shots on goal in the first period - but the only goal in the first period was scored by the visitors: Michal Kvasnica made it 1:0 in the ninth minute. But in the second period VEU turned the game around within 4,5 minutes: Kevin Puschnik (23.) equalized, Linus Lundström (28.) gave the Vorarlberg team the lead in the first power play of the game. Laurin Müller extended the lead in the 44th minute - after both teams missed one overtime game in the middle period - and marked the final scoretoo.
