Féhérvar, Bolzano and KAC extend streaks | Innsbruck with second full success

Féhérvar AV 19, the HCB Südtirol Alperia and the EC-KAC extended their streaks. For the KAC it was already the sixths consecutive win. Also the HC TWK Innsbruck continued were they ended last round and captured the second continuous full success. The Caps won their first duel of the season against the Liwest black Wings Linz.

Third consecutive win of Féhérvar
Hydro Féhérvar AV19 are the team oft he hour. After winning against Vienna and Salzburg the Hungarians also defeated the Moser Medical Graz99ers. For the 99ers it was already the sixths defeat in the past seven games. The 99ers had the better start into the game and captured the 1:0 and the 3:1 lead in the second period. After that Fehervar shifted one gear up and turned the game within three minutes to a 4:3 lead. The 99ers didn’t come back into the game and the Hungarians finally celebrated a 6:3 win. With that win Fehervar is only trailing by two points to the important second place.

Second consecutive full win for Innsbruck
The HC TWK Innsbruck waited long for their first three points this season. Last weekend they succeeded and a few days later they even celebrated their second full win. The EC Panaceo VSV had to take the third consecutive defeat on the road. Innsbruck started efficiently and captured a 3:0 lead in the first period and a 5:1 lead in the second period. The VSV tried to narrow the gap the final period but Innsbruck finished strong to create a 7:3 success – Tylor Spurgeon scored three times.

KAC extends winning streak
The EC-KAC extended the winning streak to six. In the standings they narrowed the gap to leader Salzburg to two points. Znojmo captured the first lead in this game. But Klagenfurt had more chance and started to convert still in the first to create the 2:1. Znojmo managed to tie the game two more times, before Manuel Ganahl found the decision only 37 seconds before the end. Znojmo didn’t win in Klagenfurt since 2nd December 2016.

Bolzano enters top-5 for the first time
The HCB Südtirol Alperia entered the top-5 for the first time this season. The EC Red Bull Salzburg, who is still the leader of the league, had to take the second defeat in the past three games. Domenico Alberga, who brought the decision in penalty shootout, also opened the scoring of the night. John Hughges managed to tie the game still in the second. After that there were nearly 50 minutes with no goals. So the decision had to be taken in shootout. It was the the sixths win of Bolzano this season. Before the game Salzburg announced the signing of Connor Brickley, 27 year NHL-experienced forward.

Caps gewinnen erstes Saisonduell mit Linz
The spusu Vienna Capitals had recently troubles with converting their chances. Now they celebrated a win in the first duel against the Liwest Black Wings Linz. The Black Wings had the better start and got rewarded with the early lead. The Caps tied the game still in the first. After the second period with no goals the Caps captured the lead. The Black Wings managed to tie, but Mike Zalwski succeeded with the game winner. An Emptynetter brought the result of 4:2.
