Nine games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League this weekend. While it is already clear which four teams will make the early Playoff qualification, the fight for the last Pre-Playoff tickets is still open. In pole position are the EC Bregenzerwald and the VEU Feldkirch, who need just one more point to qualify. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan are currently twelfth in the table, already six points ahead of the thirteenth place. On this is the SHC Fassa Falcons with six points less than Sterzing. All seven games on Saturday start at 19:30. The two Sunday games include a rearranged match between the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and S.G. Cortina Hafro. This game had to be postponed last week due to medical precautionary measures.

While the Rittner Buam have the ticket for the Pre-Playoffs already fixed, the EC-KAC II will definitely miss the Postseason. The "Buam" are currently in eighth place in the table, tied on points with the EHC Lustenau, who are seventh in the table. The hosts were able to win all of their last two games. KA2 prevailed in two of the last five games. In the only duel of the season between RIT and KA2, the Klagenfurt team celebrated a 4:3 home victory. It was the second win en suite for the KA2 over RIT. The remaining seven AHL duels were all won by Ritten.

With a 5:2 away win at the EC-KAC, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey became the fourth team to clinch an early Playoff ticket. It was the fourth win in a row for the Italians. The Steel Wings Linz are at the bottom of the table, but managed a surprising 3:2-OT win at the Rittner Buam in their last away game. Asiago, on the other hand, is a power at home. They have won eleven of their last twelve home games. All three duels in the AHL so far were won by Asiago (4:1, 4:1, 3:0).

For the SHC Fassa Falcons the game against the VEU Feldkirch is the game of the last chance to still reach the Pre-Playoffs. Currently, their deficit to the twelfth place is six points. The "Falcons" still have three games to play. VEU, on the other hand, is not yet qualified for the Pre-Playoffs. The Vorarlberg team, however, need only one more point from the last two games. On Thursday, both teams conceded defeats. While Fassa lost against the second of the table HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice only narrowly with 0:1, Feldkirch lost to table leader HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana clearly with 0:9. It was by far VEU's highest defeat of the season. Both teams will face each other for the second time this season.

S.G. Cortina Hafro has no more chance to reach the early Playoff qualification. The Italians are currently fifth in the table. Their gap to the fourth place is eleven points with three games remaining in the Regular Season. Opponent Bregenzerwald are tenth in the table. They need only one point from the last two games to make the Pre-Playoff qualification clear. Cortina is currently in strong form. Six wins from the past seven games speak for themselves. Bregenzerwald managed only one win from the last five games. However, this was enormously important, because with Fassa one of the main competitors for the qualification for the Pre-Playoffs was defeated.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is on the best way to finish the Regular Season on the second place. Currently the Slovenians, which are already qualified for the Playoffs, are one point ahead of third-placed HC Pustertal Wölfe with one game left to play. The HC Gherdeina valgardena.it is already qualified for the Pre-Playoffs as ninth in the table. The South Tyroleans even still have the chance to attack the seventh place. With seven wins in a row, the South Tyroleans are currently in excellent form. On Thursday, they managed a 5:4-SO home win against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Until five and a half minutes before the end of the game, the "Furie" was still trailing with 1:4. They managed to score the equalizer just 18 seconds before the end of the game. Jesenice is also in top shape. From the past seven games they have lost only once. This week it will be the third match for the Slovenians. The fourth will follow already on Sunday. At 17:15 the Steel Wings Linz are guests at Jesenice.

With three defeats in a row, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are currently in bad shape. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan were victorious in two of the last three games. These successes were essential in the fight for the Pre-Playoff qualification. With 39 points, the Broncos are currently in twelfth place, six points ahead of the thirteenth place, the SHC Fassa Falcons, who can still get a maximum of nine points. The Young Bulls are sixth in the table, just one point behind the fifth. Both teams have faced each other three times this season. In two duels Sterzing clearly kept the upper hand (4:1 & 5:1). The Salzburger team were only successful in the season opener (3:2). Already on Sunday, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are in action again. The game against S.G. Cortina Hafro, which was postponed due to medical precautionary measures, will be rearranged at 19:15.

In the seventh and last game of the day, the HC Pustertal Wölfe will face the EHC Lustenau. The South Tyroleans are already qualified for the Playoffs as third in the table. The Vorarlberg team is currently seventh in the table and has to defend this position against the Rittner Buam and the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. With four defeats from the last four games, the EHC is currently in bad shape. Pustertal, on the other hand, has won seven of its last eight games. Both teams faced each other only recently, on March 4th. PUS kept the upper hand with 3:1. Overall, the 2019 AHL finalists have a narrow 6:5 lead in the H2H.

The match between the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and S.G. Cortina Hafro, postponed due to medical precautionary measures, will be made up on Sunday at 19:15. The match can be expected with a lot of excitement, as both teams are ranked right behind each other in the standings. For both teams it will be the second match within 24 hours. In the first duel of the season RBJ clearly kept the upper hand with 8:3.
