Jesenice lost the past two games and dropped to the sevenths place. In their last game they had not a good end in the Slovenian derby. Ten minutes before the end Jesenice was still in the lead but received two goals in the crunch time. The winning streak of three games of the Eisbären ended last game at the Austrian derby against Salzburg. The first duel of these two teams this season was dominated by Jesenice. The Slovenians won 12:2 in Zell.

The young Austrians recently won in overtime in penalty shoot-out. Evrtsson converted the decisive penalty. The Broncos won the first comparison this season 4:1.

Also Cortina lost the past two games and are in the lower half of the standings. Including the past season the home team decided the past four direct duels. This Season Cortina celebrated a 3:1 success back in September.

The Champions of the first AHL season strengthened their roster with defender Aleksandry Jerofejevs replacing Kai Lehtinen, who will be out until the end of the season because of a knee injury. Jerofejevs played for Dinamo Rīga in the KHL past season. Tommaso Traversa of Leader HC Pustertal got suspended for two games, because of Interference. Still Pustertal aims to further increase their starting record. In the game against the Rittner Buam, the wolves have the chance to set a new record in longest winning streak in Alps Hockey League. With 17 consecutive wins they currently have equalized the streak of Asiago in the past season.
