The third quarterfinal matchday of the Alps Hockey League is scheduled for Saturday. Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and S.G. Cortina Hafro have the first chance to advance to the semifinals. All three teams are leading with 2:0 in the "best-of-five" series, while the Austrian duel between the EHC Lustenau and the EK Die Zeller Eisbären is tied after two games.

Standings in the "best-of-five" series 2:0
HDD SIJ Acroni Jeesenice earned the first matchpuck in a dramatic game two at the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. The Slovenians did not provide the decision until the 97th minute. Eric Svetina redeemed last year's semi-finalists, who was already leading with 2:0 in the meantime and won with 3:2 in the end. Game one was clearly won by the winner of the first phase of the Regular Season with 4:0. Altogether Val Gardena has been waiting for a win against Jesenice for ten games. The last success dates back to October 10th, 2019. Last season, the two teams also met in the quarterfinals. At that time, JES kept the upper hand with 3:0.

In the Austrian duel between the EHC Lustenau and the EK Die Zeller Eisbären, the score is 1:1 after two games, making it the only encounter where no team has matchpuck on Saturday. After Zell am See prevailed with 3:2 in Lustenau in the opener, the Vorarlberg team regained the home advantage on Thursday. In front of more than 1800 fans in Zell am See, the EHC won with 4:3 in overtime. Philipp Koczera scored the golden goal in the 70th minute. Before that, Henrik Neubauer provided a late equalizer for the Polar Bears. The native of Sweden has scored at least one point in every game so far this postseason (4G / 2A).

The Rittner Buam, third in the Master Round standings, have to fight to remain in the series. The South Tyroleans are down with 0:2 against S.G. Cortina Hafro, giving the Italians their first matchpuck on Saturday. For Cortina, it would be only the second semifinal appearance in the history of the Alps Hockey League. In the season 2016/17, they won against Pustertal with 3:0 in the quarterfinals. They then lost to current opponents Ritten with 1:3. The "Buam" subsequently also won the only title in the AHL to date. In this year's playoffs, Cortina won both games with 4:2. In each case, they were already trailing by one goal.

Standings in the "best-of-five" series 2:0
Last year's finalist Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey is on its way to reach the semifinals. The Italians lead against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan with 2:0 and thus need only one more success to advance. For Asiago, it would be the fourth semifinal appearance in AHL history. Only in the 2018/19 season the 2018 champion missed out on making it to the Top-4. This year they clearly prevailed against the Broncos in both previous games (8-2 & 6-2). In both games, Asiago trailed with 0:2 and 0:1 respectively. Overall, the Broncos have been waiting for a win against Asiago for five games.
