First win of Innsbruck after spectacular turnaround

The EC-KAC and the HC Tiroler Wasser Kraft Innsbruck celebrated wind after spectacular turnaround. The reigning champ turned the game against HC Orli Znojmo after trailing 0:3 and won in shootout 4:3. Innsbruck even trailed by a four goals deficit. Jesper Thörnbergs Hattrick brought the turnaround and the overtime, Tylor Spurgeon decided the game in Overtime. The spusu Vienna Capitals and the Moser Medical Graz99ers closed the gap in the standings to leader Salzburg after wins. The HCB Südtirol captured three points against Linz and got rid of the red lantern.

KAC turns around game in Znojmo
The EC-KAC turned the game in Znojmo after trailing by three goals. It was the second consecutive time the HC Orli Znojmo lost in shootout. Znojmo started much more efficiently than the KAC. After eleven minutes Znojmo had a 2:0 lead. The KAC had more chances but didn’t convert. The Czechs kept their efficiency also in the second period and Antonin Boruta increased to 3:0. The KAC was still the more active team and started to catch up in the third period. Livik, Kozek and Neal tied the game within four minutes. After a goalless overtime Andrew Kozek brought the decision in shootout.



Bolzano gets rid of red lantern
After a power outage the home debut of the Liwest Black Wings Linz started with 15 minutes delay. But it was a quick start. Rick Schofield scored and made the Keine Sorgen EisArena loud for the first time. Till the 21st minute Bolzano turned the game and took the lead for the first time. Schofield managed to tie the game again but then Goalie Paul Mocher, who started instead of David Kickert, received his third goal. In the final period two goals of Daniel Frank and Timothy Daly brought the decision and the first road win for Bolzano.



99ers still undefeated at home rink
The Moser Medical Graz 99ers celebrated a 3:1 success against the Dornbirn Bulldogs and are still undefeated in their home rink. The Dornbirn Bulldogs couldn’t win since their season opening game against Innsbruck. Already in the first period the 99ers seemed to control the game but couldn’t score. This chanced quickly In the second period. David Aslin needed only 33 seconds to open the scoring. Matt Garbowsky doubled the lead in the same period. In the final 20 minutes Greg Squired brought the early decision with the 3:0. He scored in all of his games in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (4G/1A). Emilio Romig corrected the result to 1:3 but the Bulldogs had to take their sixth defeat in this season.

Capitals extend winning streak
The spusu Vienna Capitals extended their winning streak to four after celebrating a 6:1 over Hydro Fehervar AV19. It was not only the third consecutive defeat for Fehervar, it was also the highest in this season. The Caps started quick like a shot and took a 4:0 lead after goals of Holzapfel, Hartl, Wukovits and Baun after 20 minutes. In the second period Niki Hartl scored again for the early decision. Andrew Sauer showed a sign of life and scored the first and only goal for Fehervar. Brenden Kichton created the result of 6:1 in the final period. The Caps closed the gap to leader Salzburg in the standings.



Innsbruck mit spektakulärer Aufholjagd zum ersten Sieg
The HC TWK Innsbruck celebrated their first win after a spectacular turnaround despite of trailing by four goals already. Till the 29th minute the VSV already had a 3:0 lead and 5:1 lead after 49 minutes. At this time Villach already took the lead in the live standings. But then Jesper Thörnberg started a spectacular race to catch up. With a hattrick Thörnberg even took the lead for Innsbruck but Anton Karlsson tied again for the Overtime. In Overtime Tyler Spurgeon brought the decision after only 44 seconds and brought the first win of Innsbruck in this season.
