Last Saturday, Zell am See secured the Austrian AHL championship title with an aggregate score of 7:5 in the final against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Just three days later, the defending champions and current Master Round leaders are back in league action, away at third-placed KHL Sisak, who trail the Austrian team by three points but have played one game fewer. Sisak won their only Master Round game so far 4:0 against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Zell am See recorded two victories: away at Asiago (3:1) and at home against Vipiteno (7:2). In the direct head-to-head comparison, the Polar Bears have won only one of the three meetings so far this season. Most recently, they suffered a clear 0:4 defeat in Croatia.

Vipiteno aiming for first Master Round points
In the second Master Round game, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan host HC Migross Asiago. Both teams are still winless in the intermediate round and currently occupy positions four (HCA) and five (WSV). Vipiteno have lost so far in Zell am See (2:7) and Salzburg (3:4). Asiago have played only one game, losing at home to Zell am See 1:3 – their first defeat after 13 consecutive wins across all competitions. Against the Broncos, the Italians have recorded three convincing victories this season (5:2, 7:3, 7:3).

Meran under pressure in Qualification Round A
In Qualification Round A, leaders S.G. Cortina Hafro meet bottom side HC Meran/o Pircher. Meran urgently need points to avoid missing out on the pre playoffs. Currently fourth in the standings, Meran trail third-placed Unterland by two points. The first Qualification Round meeting between the two teams on February 7 ended with a 6:4 away win for Cortina. Cortina also opened the intermediate round with a convincing 7:2 victory over Unterland and are unbeaten in their last five games. Meran, meanwhile, lost their opening Qualification Round match in Kitzbühel 2:3 after a shootout.

Two games in Qualification Round B
Two matches are scheduled in Qualification Round B on Tuesday, with all four teams still in contention for positions one to four. League leaders Rittner Buam SkyAlps (five points) visit third-placed HDD Jesenice, who trail by two points but have played one game fewer. Jesenice opened the intermediate round with a dominant 6:0 home win over Bregenzerwald, while Ritten first won 3:2 in Bregenzerwald before losing 2:3 at home to Val Gardena. In the three meetings between the two teams this season, Jesenice have won only once.

In the second game, bottom side EC Bregenzerwald host second-placed HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. The Vorarlberg club are just one point behind Val Gardena but are currently struggling for form, having lost their first two intermediate round games and waiting four matches for a victory. Val Gardena won their only Qualification Round game so far and have recorded two wins from their last five matches overall. In the direct encounters this season, Gherdeina have won two of three games, but suffered a heavy 2:6 defeat in their only appearance in Vorarlberg.
