Five home wins – Zell the only team to claim victory on the road

Home ice ruled the second round of the Alps Hockey League on Thursday, with five of the six games going to the hosts. HD Jesenice, Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and Rittner Buam SkyAlps all recorded convincing wins. The EC-KAC Future Team shut out the Red Bull Hockey Juniors 4-0, while the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan needed a shootout to win their season opener. EK Die Zeller Eisbären were the only team to win on the road, claiming a 4-1 victory in Cortina.

Jesenice stops Asiago – Ritten wins South Tyrolean clash
HD Jesenice bounced back with an impressive 7-2 home win over previous league leader HC Migross Asiago. The Slovenian side held a 3-2 lead after a high-scoring opening period before taking control with three unanswered goals in the second. Kapel scored twice, while Jesenice converted four of its five power-play opportunities.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps also made it two wins from two. The Buam cruised to a 6-1 victory over HC Meran/o Pircher in the South Tyrolean clash. Robert Öhler opened the scoring before Markus Öhler made it 4-0 in the second period. Markkula scored twice as Ritten completed a convincing home win.

KAC Future Team and Kitzbühel cruise to victory
The EC-KAC Future Team picked up its first points of the season with a 4-0 shutout against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Schrott and Miceli gave KAC a 2-0 lead in the opening period before Vodnjov and Hrovat Plemenik completed the victory.

Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel also celebrated its first win of the campaign, beating the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 7-2. Stahlberg and Podlipnik scored twice each, while Kitzbühel struck four times on the power play.

Broncos prevail in shootout – Zell wins in Cortina
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it delivered the highest-scoring game of the night. The teams were tied 5-5 after regulation and a scoreless overtime before Conci scored the shootout winner to give the Broncos a 6-5 victory in their season opener.

EK Die Zeller Eisbären recorded the only road win of the night. Kalajanniska opened the scoring for Cortina before Jezovsek tied the game in the second period. Special teams made the difference in the third, with Kulintsev and Jezovsek scoring on the power play before Jezovsek completed his hat trick to seal a 4-1 win.
