Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel celebrated their third win in a row on Saturday, as the league leaders prevailed 5:2 in Merano. The home side took the lead after 35 seconds through Chad Pietroniro, but two goals from Chris Schutz turned the game in the Tyroleans' favour. A further brace from Sebastian Christiansen in the middle period made things clear. In the end, Kitzbühel earned their fifth away win in a row in Merano.
The EK Zeller Eisbären carried the momentum of recent weeks and also picked up their first three points of the season away from home. Although Sterzing took the lead in the third minute through Lukas de Lorenzo Meo, the visitors equalised in the first period through Alexander Lahoda. The Pinzgau team had more of the play for long stretches and turned it around in the middle period through Philipp Putnik. In the final period, Tyler Cuma made sure of the decision and Zell am See celebrated its fourth win in a row.
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors took the lead twice against Gröden in the first period. However, the visitors took control in the middle period and turned the game in their favour thanks to a brace from Simon Pitschieler. The game went into the second break at 3:5. After Val Gardena even increased the score to 3:6, the Salzburg team came back to within one goal. However, Stephan Deluca made the final score 5:7, which lifted the "Furie" to fourth place in the table.
Despite trailing twice, Unterland prevailed against EC Bregenzerwald. After taking a quick lead through Richard Schlögl, the Cavaliers equalised in the middle period. Things then went quickly in the 39th minute: Kristians Samitis equalised just 19 seconds after the ECB had retaken the lead. In the third period, Davide Girardi turned the game in favour of the South Tyroleans in the power play, who narrowly prevailed 3:2. Bregenzerwald thus remain at the bottom of the table.
