At 12:30 p.m., the Graz99ers and Villach go head-to-head. It’s third vs. sixth in the standings. Graz have only lost once this season – in overtime to league leaders Ljubljana – and celebrated a 3:2 win at KAC on Friday. Just two days later they face Carinthian’s second ICEHL team. Villach earned a commanding 8:3 road victory in Linz on Friday, highlighted by a brace from 16-year-old Paul Sintschnig. It was the “Eagle’s” first win after three straight defeats. Last season, Graz won three of the four encounters between the two clubs.

Salzburg hosts the Pioneers
Defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg welcome Pioneers Vorarlberg. The visitors from Feldkirch picked up their first win of the season on Friday with a 4:2 against Vienna, while Salzburg suffered their first loss in Pustertal (1:2). Despite that, the Red Bulls remain second in the standings, while the Pioneers moved up to 12th. Salzburg won three of four meetings last season, but Vorarlberg still cherish their latest clash: on December 28, 2024, they celebrated a clear 6:1 road win in Salzburg.

Linz aiming to bounce back in Bolzano
Steinbach Black Wings Linz have managed just one win in four games so far. On Friday, they suffered a heavy 3:8 home defeat to Villach. Next up, they visit the in-form HCB Südtirol Alperia. The Bolzano side have only lost once – in their opener against Salzburg (3:4) – and have since won three in a row, including two shutouts. Bolzano currently sit fourth in the table, while Linz are 11th. Last season, the head-to-head series ended level with two wins each.

Ljubljana chasing sixth straight win
Olimpija Ljubljana remain the only unbeaten team in the league, leading the standings with 14 out of 15 possible points. On Sunday, the “Dragons” host Hydro Fehérvár AV19, who was free from play on Friday and currently sit eighth with six points from four games. With 34 goals scored, Ljubljana has by far the league’s best offense – Graz follows with 19, Fehérvár has 10 goals scored so far. Olimpija have scored six or more goals in four of their five outings so far. Nicolai Meyer (12 points) and T.J. Brennan (11 points) lead the league’s scoring race. Recent history, however, favors Fehérvár: the Hungarians won three of the four encounters last season.
