Saturday night brought four home wins and two away wins in the Alps Hockey League. The EC Bregenzerwald surprisingly won against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The Latvian newcomer Roberts Lipsbergs shone with two goals and two assists. Gal Koren made one assist for the HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana at the comeback. The Slovenians won with 5:1 against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. Furthermore the EHC Lustenau managed a shutout-victory, the S.G. Cortina Hafro won after shootout. Moreover, the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice celebrated away victories.

Morrone celebrates shutout at victory of Lustenau
The EHC Lustenau celebrated an unchallenged 6:0 victory over the Steel Wings Linz. Lustenau goalkeeper Anthony Morrone saved all 22 shots on his goal and celebrated a shutout. For the EHC it was the third victory over SWL in the third duel. Due to Covid-19 the Steel Wings could not play a match since 22.10. In their seventh match of the season it was the seventh defeat. For Lustenau it was the second victory in a row. At home the Vorarlberg team is still unbeaten this season (4 wins). For the Steel Wings Linz it was the first of two games this weekend. They will meet the VEU Feldkirch already tomorrow, Sunday. The game starts at 18:00 and will be streamed live on Valcome.tv.

Koren scores at comeback for Ljubljana
Gal Koren is back at the HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. The best scorer of the "Dragons" from the previous season made his comeback in the Alps Hockey League on Saturday and was able to score promptly. The 28-year-old assisted the 3:0. All in all, the Slovenian team won with 5:1 against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. Man of the match was Jan Drozg with two goals. Thus Ljubljana remains unbeaten in the eighth game of the season. For the Broncos it was the third defeat from the last five games.

ECB newcomer Lipsbergs shines at debut
The EC Bregenzerwald was able to achieve a surprising 4:2 home win against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Also the last AHL game of the ECB was against RBJ. On 24.10. the Salzburg team defeated the Vorarlbergerg team with 9:1. It was the first defeat for the Young Bulls after four wins in a row. Outstanding at Bregenzerwald was the Latvian newcomer Roberts Lipsbergs, who transferred from KHL participant Dinamo Riga to the Alps Hockey League this week. The 26-year-old scored two goals and assisted two further goals.

Feldkirch loses against Jesenice
The VEU Feldkirch lost against the HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice with 2:4. For the Slovenians it was the fourth AHL victory in a row. The VEU lost the second game in a row. The last game they played on 21.10. But the duel VEU against JES was balanced until the end. The final decision was made only eight seconds before the end of the game by an empty net goal from Zan Jezovsek. For the VEU Feldkirch it was the first of two games this weekend. Already tomorrow, Sunday, they will meet the Steel Wings Linz. The game starts at 18:00 and will be streamed live on Valcome.tv.

Cortina defeats Pustertal after Shootout
S.G. Cortina Hafro won against the HC Pustertal Wölfe with 3:2 after Shootout. In the fourth minute of the game the guests from South Tyrol took the lead with 1:0. Cortina managed to equalize in the second period. In the final period the hosts managed to take the lead. Only three minutes later PUS equalized. There was no decision in the regular playing time and in overtime, so the game had to be decided in the shootout. In this it was Remy Giftopoulos who scored the decisive penalty for Cortina. For Cortina it was the second AHL victory in a row over Pustertal.

No chance for Fassa against Val Gardena
The HC Gherdeina valgardena.it didn't give the SHC Fassa Falcons a chance and won clearly with 4:1. Even though Fassa had more than twice as many shots on goal (49:21) as Val Gardena, they could only score one goal. After two wins in a row, FAS lost again. For Val Gardena it was the second victory from the last five games. Brad McGowan scored twice for GHE.
