Foxes sign crack with NHL and KHL experience

HCB Südtirol Alperia has signed Matt Frattin, a forward with a remarkable resume. The 34-year-old Canadian has a long history in the two best leagues in the world, the NHL and KHL.

Matt Frattin was drafted 99th overall in 2007 by the Toronto Maple Leafs. After four seasons in the University of Dakota jersey, he made his debut in the in NHL in 2011. There he received a two-way contract for the following two seasons, while also playing in the AHL in a Toronto Marlies jersey. In 2013, he alternated between the Los Angeles Kings and the Columbus Blue Jackets before returning to Toronto. There he played primarily with the Marlies, with whom he also spent the entire 2015/16 season. This was followed by another year in the jersey of the Stockton Heat, with whom he finished his career in North America with a score of 37 points in total from 141 NHL games and 250 appearances with 173 points in the AHL. In 2017, he moved to the KHL, where he signed with Barys Astana, Ak Bars Kazan and Barys Nur-Sultan for five seasons, joined by two appearances in the NLA with Lausanne. He made a total of 254 appearances in Europe's top league, scoring 151 points.
