Release from 23.08.2021
15 teams of the Alps Hockey League were recently in test matches and also in the coming days there are some preseason games on the schedule. In addition, there were transfer activities at Asiago and Sterzing.
The Valcome.tv tournament in Feldkirch saw the final derby between the hosts BEMER VEU Feldkirch and EHC Lustenau - the Lions defended their title with a 3:0 victory. At the memorial tournament for Hansjörg Brunner, three AHL teams were in action: host HC Meran, Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and the Rittner Buam. In the semifinal, league newcomer Meran was only narrowly beaten 0:1 by HCB Südtirol Alperia. The team from the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League then claimed the title with a clear 6:1 final victory over Ritten.
In the last game of the Trofeo Ladin, Val Gardena won 3:2 against Cortina thanks to a fantastic comeback. This meant that the tournament victory went to the Fassa Falcons for the first time. Apart from a 7:0 victory of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice over the Hungarian representative Ferencvárosi TC, the 6:3 home victory of EC Bregenzerwald against EHC Chur from Switzerland was one of the highlights. In addition to hat-trick scorer Fabian Ranftl, Roberts Lipsbergs recorded five scorer points in this game.
