EC-KAC - Steinbach Black Wings Linz
In the top game of the 37th round, the EC-KAC will face Linz. The third-placed team from Klagenfurt has won all of its last six games and has scored points in eleven consecutive games since November 29, winning nine of them. The last time the KAC were beaten in front of a home crowd was on November 15. Their opponents at the time were Linz. The Upper Austrians narrowly prevailed 4:3. In the first duel of the season, the KAC still had the upper hand in Linz with a clear 5:0. The team in fifth place in the table, which is three points behind the KAC, is currently on a three-game losing streak. On Wednesday, Linz lost 2:4 at home to Salzburg, while Klagenfurt won 7:4 in Vienna.

EC Red Bull Salzburg - spusu Vienna Capitals
Defending champions Salzburg take on Vienna on Friday. The Red Bulls have won their last two games to move up to fourth in the table, nine points behind leaders Bolzano. The Capitals slipped to tenth place on Wednesday, but have a comfortable nine-point lead over the eleventh-placed Pioneers. In addition to the 4:7 defeat against the KAC to start the new year, the Capitals were also beaten 3:5 by Olimpija in their last game of the old year. Before that, they celebrated two victories against Fehérvár (3:0) and Bolzano (3:2). They didn´t win against Salzburg this season (3:5, 0:3).

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 - Olimpija Ljubljana
Second-placed Fehérvár face Olimpija, who are in top form. The Slovenians have won all five games since the change of the head coach, but are already ten points behind sixth place in the table. They won 3:2 in Graz on Wednesday, while Fehérvár narrowly lost 4:5/SO in Villach, meaning they are now two points behind leaders Bolzano. It was one of three defeats from the last five games for the Hungarians. They have already faced Ljubljana three times this season. Fehérvár won twice with 2:1, but Olimpija prevailed 4:1 in the last encounter on December 22.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey - EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
Sixth-placed Villach visit twelfth-placed Asiago. VSV is currently in sixth place, which entitles them to direct playoff qualification. Graz, in seventh place, has the same number of points as VSV, but has no game on Friday. Asiago are already ten points behind the important tenth place currently occupied by Vienna. The Italians have not won any of their last eleven games and missed out on important points in the battle for the Top-10 with a 1:3 defeat in Pustertal on Wednesday. Villach narrowly won against Fehérvár 5:4/SO. Kevin Hancock tied the game just 65 seconds before the end. The “Eagles” had the upper hand against Asiago in two high-scoring games this season (10:2, 6:5).

HCB Südtirol Alperia - Pioneers Vorarlberg
League leaders Bolzano have won all of their last three games and are now two points ahead of their closest rivals Fehérvár. The Pioneers were not in action on New Year's Day, losing 2:5 at home to Pustertal in their last game in 2024, but before that the team in eleventh place had won three games in a row. They are nine points behind tenth-placed Vienna. However, the Vorarlberg side have struggled against Bolzano so far this season. The South Tyroleans prevailed 4:2 in the first two encounters, while PIV at least picked up a point in the third encounter in a 4:5/SO home defeat.

HC Pustertal - HC TIWAG Innsbruck
In the sixth and final game of the 37th round, ninth-placed Pustertal hosts bottom-placed Innsbruck. The two teams are separated by twelve points and Innsbruck have already played three games more than Pustertal. The visitors from Tyrol have been waiting five games for a win. Pustertal, on the other hand, have recently picked up two wins in a row. However, the 3:1 home win against Asiago on New Year's Day was their first home win since the third of November and five home defeats in a row. Innsbruck have also only won two of their last ten matches away from home. The “Sharks” were beaten 1:4 in their first head-to-head in Bruneck and also conceded a clear defeat in front of their home crowd (1:5).
