Release from 28.10.2025
Three rounds are scheduled in the win2day ICE Hockey League this week before the first international break of the season. On Wednesday, the 15th round takes place. Among the highlights, league leader HC Falkensteiner Pustertal visits Moser Medical Graz99ers, while HCB Südtirol Alperia hosts EC-KAC.
HC Falkensteiner Pustertal continues to be in sensational form. The league leaders have won all of their last four games, most recently beating defending champions Salzburg 5:3. On Wednesday, the South Tyroleans will face Moser Medical Graz99ers away from home. The Styrians are in fourth place, just four points behind Pustertal. They are also in good form: they have earned points in their last seven games, winning four of them. Last Sunday, they defeated the Pioneers at home 4:1 – the first match under interim coach Philipp Pinter, who replaced head coach Harry Lange after a 2:3 OT loss in Linz. The win against the Pioneers was only their second home victory in six games, while Pustertal has won six of their seven away games. In the first matchup of the season on September 14 in Bruneck, Graz celebrated a convincing 4:0 away win. The game will be broadcast live on Sporteurope.tv, and for Italian fans, it is also available for free on DAZN Italia.
KAC wants revenge against Bolzano
In the first encounter of the season, EC-KAC lost 5:1 at home against HCB Südtirol Alperia. This time, the South Tyroleans host the Klagenfurt side in another highly anticipated top match. Bolzano is fourth in the table with 26 points, while KAC is sixth with 22 points. Last Sunday, KAC’s six-game winning streak ended with a 3:4 SO home loss to Ljubljana, while Bozen won 5:4 SO in Budapest, claiming their third consecutive victory. With just 26 (HCB) and 29 (KAC) goals conceded, both teams boast the league’s strongest defenses. KAC has only lost one away game so far, at the season opener in Salzburg 1:4; the following five away games were all wins. Bolzano has won four of their six home matches.
Salzburg visits the Pioneers
Pioneers Vorarlberg have not won in their last five games. Defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg recently lost 3:5 at home to Pustertal, after two consecutive wins. Salzburg sits fifth in the table with 24 points. In the first matchup against the Pioneers, they won 4:1 at home, although it was tied 1:1 until the last 16 minutes. Salzburg has struggled away from home, losing five consecutive away games across competitions; only their first two away games of the season were wins. The Pioneers have won just one of their six home games so far.
Linz aims to continue upward trend in Innsbruck
Steinbach Black Wings Linz, last season’s semi-finalists, won both home games last weekend, ending a run of eight losses in their first ten matches. Linz sits 11th, just behind HC TIWAG Innsbruck, who hold a one-point advantage. Innsbruck recently ended a three-game losing streak with a 2:1 home win over Villach – their first win in regulation this season. Linz remains the only team yet to earn points in away games. The two teams meet for the first time this season; last season, Linz won all four encounters. Innsbruck has not beaten the Black Wings since December 26, 2023.
Fehérvár hosts Vienna
The matchup between Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and the Vienna Capitals has not occurred yet this season. They met during pre-season in Székesfehérvár, with Vienna prevailing 4:3. Last season, the teams faced off in the pre-playoffs, with Fehérvár winning the series 2:1, taking the deciding game 3:2. This season, both teams are struggling. Fehérvár sits ninth with 16 points, while Vienna is tenth with one point less, having played one fewer game. Fehérvár lost its last three games, most recently 1:7 in Linz, while Vienna won 4:3 SO against the Pioneers – their first victory after four straight losses.
Ljubljana aims for another win in Budapest
Olimpija Ljubljana, second in the table with 27 points, trails league leader Pustertal by just two points. On Wednesday, the Slovenian team visits FTC-Telekom, the league newcomer in eighth place with 17 points, who have failed to win in their last three games but earned points against Bolzano and Villach. Ljubljana has won their last three league matches, most recently 4:3 SO in Klagenfurt. Away from home, the Dragons have won four of six games, while Budapest has succeeded in three of six home games. With 66 goals scored, Ljubljana maintains the league’s best offense, led by Nicolai Meyer (24 points) and T.J. Brennan (23 points), the top scorers so far.
