In the headline game of the round, third-placed EK Die Zeller Eisbären welcome fifth-placed Rittner Buam SkyAlps. The two teams are separated by six points in the standings. Zell am See recently snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3:2 road win in Jesenice, while Ritten have won four of their last five games, most recently earning a 4:2 victory over Kitzbühel. In the form table covering the last ten games, the South Tyroleans rank second, while Zell am See sit fourth. The teams have already met twice this season, with the home side winning on both occasions (1:0 RIT, 4:2 EKZ).

Kitzbühel looking to return to winning ways
Fourth-placed Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel are winless in their last two games and now hold just a one-point advantage over sixth-placed Asiago. On Tuesday, the Tyroleans face tenth-placed HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. The South Tyroleans, however, are trending upward, having collected three wins from their last five games, including a 6:4 home victory over Bregenzerwald. In the two previous meetings with Kitzbühel this season, Gherdeina were beaten both times (2:3, 2:6). Overall, the “Furie” have been waiting for a win against the Eagles since December 9, 2023, a span of five games.

League leaders face bottom club
League-leading KHL Sisak meet bottom side Hockey Unterland Cavaliers in the final game of the year. The Croatian club tops the standings with 55 points, holding a one-point lead over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, while Unterland sit on 17 points and already trail second-bottom Merano by 14 points. The South Tyroleans are winless in their last three games, while Sisak suffered a heavy 1:5 loss in Asiago most recently, after recording two consecutive home wins. With 33 home points, Sisak are also the league’s strongest home team. The Croatians have won both previous encounters with Unterland this season (4:3 at home, 5:0 away).

Salzburg aim for third season win over Cortina
Second-placed Red Bull Hockey Juniors play their first game after Christmas on Tuesday, while S.G. Cortina Hafro will be in action for the third time in this period. The Italians most recently suffered a 2:5 defeat in Sterzing, their first loss after a six-game winning streak. Against the Juniors, ninth-placed Cortina have been beaten in both meetings this season (0:3, 1:2 OT).

Asiago and Sterzing battle for crucial Top-5 points
HC Migross Asiago, currently sixth, trail fifth-placed Rittner Buam SkyAlps by just one point. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan sit eighth and remain very much in the race for a direct Master Round spot, trailing Ritten by seven points but with two games in hand. Both Asiago and Sterzing come into the matchup on the back of two straight wins. In their head-to-head meetings this season, Asiago prevailed convincingly on both occasions, winning 7:3 twice.

Bregenzerwald host Merano
The final game day of the year also features a clash between EC Bregenzerwald and HC Meran/o Pircher. The Vorarlberg side have won both previous meetings this season (5:3, 5:2) and head into Tuesday’s contest as slight favorites. Currently seventh in the standings, Bregenzerwald trail fifth place by six points with two games in hand. Merano, meanwhile, are 12th and already 14 points adrift of the Top 5. However, the South Tyroleans have shown improved form recently, winning three of their last five games, while Bregenzerwald have lost their past two outings.
