Furey and Fischer new coaching duo of the EC-KAC

Kirk Furey is the new head coach of the EC-KAC. The Canadian-born will be assisted by David Fischer. In addition, the spusu Vienna Capitals and the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg announced a new signing each. A contract extension was communicated by Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey.

Kirk Furey was most recently already coach of the Future Team of the KAC in the Alps Hockey League and now takes over the position of the head coach of the first team. Overall, the 47-year-old has been active with the KAC as a player or coach since 2007. The KAC has made numerous changes to the coaching staff this summer. Only goalkeeper coach Andrej Hočevar remains. Juha Vuori will be the new head coach of the Future Team in the Alps Hockey League, where he will be assisted by Development Coach Christoph Brandner. Felix Schwan will be responsible for the off-ice area in the professional business as Performance Coodinator in the future, after Leo Kraus sought and completed a career change.

Capitals sign Swedish defender
The spusu Vienna Capitals strengthened their defense with the Swede Stefan Warg. The 33-year-old won a championship title in the Swedish Hockey League, in addition to 639 games at the professional level in Sweden. The right-shooter spent last season with Finnish first-division club KooKoo and Czech extra-league club HC Sparta Prague.

Oskar Maier joins the Pioneers
The 21-year-old forward Oskar Maier moves from Salzburg to the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg. The native of Wels was on the ice 49 times for the Red Bulls' first team.

Michele Marchetti stays in Asiago
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey has extended the contract with Michele Marchetti. For the 28-year-old forward it will be the fifth season with the Italians. Last season, the left-shooter scored 25 points in 49 games.
