Besides the formal agenda the point value system was determined. Starting with the season 2019/20 a maximum of 44 points for transfer card players is allowed to be used per club. The new point value system obliges national players, which change to the age category of U25. According to Christian Feichtinger, General Manager of Erste Bank Eishockey League: “The clubs agreed that they will supplement the existing point value system, which may implicate a reduction of possible spots for transfer card players. This also includes a revaluation of the points for players who drop out of the U24 facilitation. This step happens in consensus with the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation, which has the main goal of providing the best infrastructure for young national players.”

Zagreb is not participating in the qualification round

KHL Medvescak Zagreb will only participate in the remaining three games of the first phase of the regular season. But due to sportive reasons the Croatian side will not participate in the qualification round. “The decision is built up upon several factors. On the one hand, their arena, Dom Sportova, is not available in the second half of the qualification round. Due to this issue, the scheduling would have been complicated. Further, the current sportive performance is not representative for what we expected. After a fair discussion between all involved parties, the decision for not partaking in the qualification round was made.”

Meeting in Feldkirch scheduled

After the VEU Feldkirch envinced their interest for participating in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga in timely manner, there will be an inspection of the local infrastructure. “After Feldkirch has made its interest in participating public, the terms of admission have been forwarded to VEU. Before taking the next steps, the local infrastructure has to be checked. After this process a report will be delivered to the league-board, as well as to the clubs, to set up a final decision.”
