HC Gherdeina claimed a 3–2 win over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in Game 2 of the quarterfinals, tying the best-of-seven series at 1–1.

HC Gherdeina responded in Friday’s lone quarterfinal matchup of the best-of-seven series. With a 3–2 victory over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, Gherdeina evened the series at 1–1. The South Tyrolean hosts opened the scoring early, as Matteo Luisetti put them ahead 1–0 in the fifth minute. The Juniors, however, turned the game around in the middle frame with a quick double strike from Luca Kogler and Niklas Korhonen. Gherdeina answered later in the same period, when Vlastimil Dostalek restored parity. Dostalek then struck again in the 51st minute, netting the game-winning goal and securing the series equaliser for the home side.

The remaining quarterfinal series will already play Game 3 of their respective best-of-seven matchups on Saturday. The series between the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and Gherdeina will continue with Game 3 on Sunday.
