Bor Glavič was on the ice for his home club Jesenice for the fourth time this season last Saturday. In total, it was his thirteenth appearance in the Alps Hockey League. When asked about the strong performance against Cortina, Glavič explains: “I think the game was tough, but it was also a lot of fun. My teammates were great, everyone did their job and that's why we won. I'm happy with my performance and glad that we got the win.”

The 18-year-old's save persentage this season is a strong 94.8%, and he even celebrated a shutout against Merano. Overall, Glavič is satisfied with his development so far: “I've improved every day so far. I like the direction my development is going in and I'm going to keep it that way. The games in the Alps Hockey League are very important for my development and I hope to get many more games in the future.”

As to whether he would have thought a few years ago that he would be playing regularly in the Alps Hockey League at the age of 18, the goaltender replies: “A few years ago, I couldn't have imagined playing in this league. But when I got the chance and started training with the first team, everything changed and now I'm just part of it. I'm proud of what I've achieved so far, but I still have a lot of goals.”

His goalkeeping partner Zan Us is also an important factor in his development. The 28-year-old is the regular goalkeeper for the third-placed team and has already played in the win2day ICE Hockey League during his career: “Zan is a great partner. He helps me with his experience and knowledge. I really appreciate him, but at the same time he's also my competition.”

As a native of Jesenice, Glavič has great ambitions to win the championship title with his home club, just as his father and cousin did in 2023. Back then, Gaber Glavič coached the Slovenians and his cousin Gašper Glavič was even captain of the team: “I've dreamed of winning the title with Jesenice since I was little. Two years ago, I saw my father and my cousin win the title and I feel that I have to follow in their footsteps. Our team is very good and I believe we are more than capable of bringing the trophy to Jesenice.”

The young goalkeeper currently wants to develop at Jesenice and get more appearances. For the future the Slovenian has ambitious goals: “I have very high goals and will work hard to achieve them. Only time will tell what is possible, but I hope to make it to the biggest leagues in the world.”

On Thursday, Jesenice continue with a difficult away game at league leaders EK Die Zeller Eisbären. Watch the game in the livestream on valcome.tv from 19:30.
