In Saturday’s lone game of the win2day ICE Hockey League, the Moser Medical Graz99ers and the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg met each other, after both teams performed differently the night before: While the Styrians took a clear road win in Linz, the Vorarlberg side remained goalless in Hungary. The only change to the line-up from the previous evening was made by the Pioneers, with David Madlener being called up as goalkeeper.

The visitors got off to the better start, as two powerplay goals, in the whole game Graz took a lot of penalties, by Richard Jarusek (7./PP1) and Guus van Nes (8./PP1) gave them a 2-0 lead, Patrick Spannring (13.) then scored on a deflection for the third time for the visitors. Although Graz’ first came quick by Andrew Yogan (14.), the guests seemed much more self-confident and inspired by the good start. In the middle frame, the game flattened out a bit: Graz had to prove itself again often in a shorthanded situation, but also had a great chance through Sam Antonitsch's shot on the crossbar.

In the final period, the 99ers offense came out a bit more pressured, but seemed to lack the necessary strength. Jarusek (50.) then increased to 4-1, so the game was decided. Yogan still laced the brace, but there was no chance for more. The Pioneers deserved to win 4-2, but despite their fifth win of the season, they remain on last spot.
