At the start of the "best-of-3" Pre-Playoffs in the win2day ICE Hockey League, the Moser Medical Graz99ers won with 4:2 at the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. After the first period, the home team from Upper Austria was still 2:0 in the lead, before the guests got better and better into the game and were able to turn the match completely around in the middle period. In addition, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 celebrated a clear 4:0 home victory over Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. On Friday Graz and Fehérvár have the first chance to qualify for the quarterfinals.

2456 fans in the LINZ AG Eisarena saw a dream start of the Steinbach Black Wings Linz against the Moser Medical Graz99ers. Already after 18 minutes the home side was 2:0 in the lead thanks to a brace of Shawn St-Amant. It was the third brace of the season for the forward. The lead lasted until the 32nd minute before Gustav Bouramman scored in the powerplay to make it 1:2 from the 99ers' point of view. From then on, the visitors got better and better into the game and were able to turn the game around completely in the last minutes of the second period, with goals from Sam Antonitsch (38.) and Andrew Yogan (40.). Also in the final period Linz was not able to play like at the beginning. Finally Daniel Woger increased in the 47th minute to 4:2 for the table tenth after the Regular Season. The Black Wings then made a goalkeeper change, Rasmus Tirronen replaced Thomas Höneckl, who was able to save 81% of all shots on his goal. For the 99ers, Nicolas Wieser was between the posts (95.3%), as regular goalkeeper Christian Engstrand was again absent.



Fehérvár without problems against Asiago

In the second Pre-Playoff game, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 celebrated a clear 4:0 home win against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. In the eighth minute Brett Findlay gave the home side the lead in the powerplay. In the second period, last year's finalist increased the lead to 3:0 with goals from Janos Hari (23.) and Istvan Bartalis (28.). Akos Mihaly provided the final score in the 58th minute with an empty-net goal. The guests from Veneto had only a few scoring chances. In total, AVS goalkeeper Olivier Roy had to save only 19 shots. It was already the seventh shutout of the season for the Canadian.
