Release from 01.03.2026
For the third time in their history, the Moser Medical Graz99ers have won the regular season in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Styrian team earned a 3–1 road victory in Linz on Sunday and benefited from KAC’s home defeat against the Vienna Capitals. In a dramatic Hungarian derby, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 defeated FTC-Telekom to secure the final spot in the pre-playoffs.
In the pre-playoffs, the Vienna Capitals will face Fehérvár, while Villach will take on Linz in the second matchup.
Graz opened the scoring early in Linz: during their first power play of the game, the visitors showed patience until Ganahl buried a rebound for the 1–0 lead. In the second period, the guests doubled their advantage before Lebler cut the deficit for Linz. Late in the game, Collins sealed the win with an empty-net goal, clinching the first palce in the regular-season for the 99ers—also thanks to KAC’s loss to Vienna.
The Capitals took the lead in the second period, only for KAC to respond immediately. When Fraser put Klagenfurt ahead in the 50th minute, the Carinthians seemed on course to win the regular season. But Peeters tied the game just seconds later, and in overtime, Gazzola netted the game-winner for Vienna. During the subsequent pre-playoff pick, the seventh-ranked Capitals chose Fehérvár as their opponent.
Fehérvár’s “Red Devils” claimed their top-10 finish in the very last moments. Facing FTC-Telekom in a head-to-head battle for the final pre-playoff ticket, the visitors from Budapest struck first in front of more than 5,100 fans. Fehérvár quickly equalized, but when Kestilä made it 2–1 for FTC in the 58th minute, the visitors were momentarily in position to advance. Just 34 seconds before the end, Kuralt tied the game at 2–2 to save Fehérvár’s season—and in overtime, he scored again.
Red Bull Salzburg wrapped up their weekend with a convincing 4–1 win over Innsbruck, getting ready for the playoffs. Bolzano (4–1 in Vorarlberg) and Pustertal (1–0 in Villach) also completed strong regular-season finales. Villach now heads into the pre-playoffs against Linz.
