After a disappointing 2020/21 season, which the Moser Medical Graz99ers finished only in eleventh and last place, the Styrians are optimistic about the future. Head coach Jens Gustafsson was able to get an idea of the new team for the first time on Thursday and was very positive afterwards: "The players are very motivated and I'm glad that all players are in good shape and we could start the training on the ice."

Compared to last season, a lot has changed in the Graz squad. A total of twelve new players are in the lineup. "I am very happy with the new signings. The entire team has done a super job. We got exactly the players we wanted. I also really like the mix of young and experienced players," said the head coach of the 99ers.

The Moser Medical Graz99ers will start the new season on Friday, September 17th with a home game against the Dornbirn Bulldogs. Before that, there are still a few test matches on the schedule. To date, two games against the Steinbach Black Wings Linz on Wednesday, August 25th and Sunday, September 12th are scheduled. According to Gustafsson, the goals for the preseason games are clearly defined: "Wins are of course not the top goal, but nevertheless we hope for good preseason games. The focus in the next few weeks will also be very much on playing without the puck. Hopefully we will concede few goals from the beginning."
