Guus van Nes, born in Dordrecht in Holland, fits perfectly into the player requirement profile of EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. With his height of 1.90 metres and weight of 93 kilograms, the 27-year-old is not only very dangerous around the opponent's goal, but is also an excellent puck mover. The Dutchman set up 40 goals last season in the Pioneers Vorarlberg jersey. He was also responsible for 21 goals himself. Van Nees has signed a performance-based contract for the next two seasons.

"I'm already very excited and can't wait for the new season to start. Villach is a top club and I want to take the next step in my career here. My goal is to get into the play-offs with the team and then of course I want to achieve everything," said the new arrival.

Villach have also extended the contract with forward Tim Geifes, who is eligible to play for both co-operation partner Kitzbühel and VSV.

Pioneers sign young forward from Bregenzerwald
The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have announced their first new signing for the coming season: forward Marlon Tschofen. The 22-year-old from Montafon has played for EC Bregenzerwald in the Alps Hockey League for the past three years. He has also made twelve appearances (10 for Dornbirn, 2 for the Pioneers) in the win2day ICE Hockey League in the past due to co-operations.

Head coach Stanley sees great potential in Tschofen: "With the right coaching and enough ice time, Marlon will show us what he's made of. He's nowhere near 100% and I'm delighted that we can help him realise his full potential."

Kristler extends his contract in Linz
Andreas Kristler is one of the absolute cult figures in the win2day ICE Hockey League ahead of his 19th season in total. The 33-year-old extended his contract with the Steinbach Black Wings Linz for another year and wants to go one better after his third-best championship last year (9G, 19A).

"I'm very happy that I can stay in Linz for another year, and it makes me very proud that I'm already here for the eighth year. It's now a great honour for me to wear this jersey. I'm a guy who never gives up. We want to keep going up and we can already feel in the summer that all the lads want to achieve even more. We're working hard and making sure we're in top form in August," said Kristler.
