Longtime NHL player and former Team Canada head coach Marc Habscheid will take over as head coach of the spusu Vienna Capitals for the new season. Habscheid had been the desired solution for this position, the two-time champion Vienna sees his many years of experience in the junior sector as "compatible with Vienna's way of building up players from its own youth for the professional team."

"I would like to thank the club management of the spusu Vienna Capitals for the opportunity to coach this team. It is an honor and a privilege for me to coach this team in this beautiful city. The spusu Vienna Capitals are a great organization with a strong team, I am very happy to be here. At the same time, I would like to thank the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg for the past season and the opportunity to coach the team," said new Caps head coach Marc Habscheid, who most recently coached the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg.
