HC Meran/o – the 10th-ranked team after the Regular Season (!!) – defeated HC Asiago 6:2 in Game 6 of the quarterfinals, wins the best-of-seven series 4-2 and advances as the third semifinalist.

HC Meran/o completed a major upset on Saturday night, continuing its incredible run and securing a spot among the final four teams in the Alps Hockey League – as the 10th seed after the Regular Season.

Meran/o got off to a perfect start in Game 6 of the quarterfinals. After just 17 minutes, the underdog led 3-0 with goals from Pascal Brunner, Patrick Tomasini and a shorthanded marker by Jakob Fuchs. Asiago managed to cut the deficit late in the opening period through Nicholas Porco. In the second period, the visitors even pulled within one, before Meran/o regained control and extended the lead to 5-2 with goals from Filip Cruseman and Brayden Sherbinin. HC Meran/o never looked back and eventually secured a 6-2 win.
