The game was very tactically, and the teams prefer to play a good defense. The game didn’t take off and the first part of the time did not offer interesting ideas. Zell am See also played two powerplays but they didn’t succeed. At 125 seconds from the first break, Mathieu Ayotte found the right corridor, overcame two players and then he realized the first goal. In the second half the home team controlled the game but they didn’t find the doubling. Louke Oakley, instead, scored the equalizer in the best moment of the home team. From this moment the game became more fought. In the third period the Cortina played very offensively. It was a thrilling finish where both teams wanted to win and Nick Bruneteau hit the crossbar. Overtime brought many opportunities on one side and the other. Zell am See won thanks to Peter Leblanc goal in the shootout. Polar Bears earned the third consecutive game since Greg Holst was on the bench.
