Top defenseman Gildon joins Bolzano
HCB Südtirol Alperia has announced the signing of defenseman Max Gildon. The 26-year-old American moves to Bolzano after a standout season with HC Košice, where he led all defensemen in Slovakia’s top-tier league with 8 goals, 44 assists, and a +22 rating.

The physically strong blueliner (191 cm, 88 kg) was drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2017 and won gold with Team USA at the U18 World Championship that same year. Before his successful stint in Slovakia, Gildon played in the NCAA, logged 107 games and 41 points in the AHL, and gained experience in Germany’s DEL with Adler Mannheim.

Pioneers retain leadership and experience
Pioneers Vorarlberg have locked in two crucial pieces of their core with the re-signings of Daniel Woger and Kevin Macierzynski. Local veteran Woger, 37, brings extensive experience and leadership to the locker room. The forward has suited up for 727 ICE Hockey League games (113 goals, 155 assists) and has made over 60 international appearances for Austria. Known for his relentless work ethic, Woger also plays a key mentorship role within the squad.

Also staying with the Pioneers is 32-year-old assistant captain Kevin Macierzynski. With 592 career ICE Hockey League games under his belt, Macierzynski is known for his high hockey IQ, technical skill, and leadership qualities. Last season, he impressed with his offensive contributions and his determined role on the penalty kill.
