Home debut for Graz in Champions Hockey League

After a successful opening weekend with three points out of two games, the Moser Medical Graz99ers head into their first home game in the running Champions Hockey League season. On Thursday, the Styrian host CHL champion Frölunda Indians (8.20 pm.). Six days ago, the 99ers snatched up a 6:5 victory after shootout at Sweden.

Second leg against reigning CHL champion
The Moser Medical Graz99ers open second Champions Hockey League weekend with their first game on home ice, hosting reigning champion Frölunda Indians. After trailing 0:2 early in the first meeting with the Swedish side, the team of head coach Doug Mason proved morality, came back and snatched up the extra point with Robin Weihager scoring the decisive penalty.

Titleholder grabbed only one point
After the shootout loss against Graz, the Frölunda Indians suffered a second defeat on Sunday. The titleholder lost to Mountfield HK (CZE) 2:3 after regular time and is currently bottom placed in group H, having only one point on the side. After Graz picked up another point at the Cardiff Devils, losing after shootout, the Styrian are ranked second, having three points overall.

Colton Yellow Horn ranks first by assists after first weekend
After the first Champions Hockey League weekend, Colton Yellow Horn, who plays his second season with Graz, ranks first by assists. Together with three more players, including current top scorer Milan Gulas (HC Pilsen | 3G | 4A), the forward made four assists. Further, together with Adler Mannheim (GER) Graz has the second best offensive available with 4,5 goals per game. HC Pilsen (CZE) leads the ranking with seven goals scored each game. At once, the Styrian had to accept second most goals per game (4,5) too.

Daniel Oberkofler, forward G99: "For sure, they will give as a tougher battle than last week. They are not used to lose two games in a row. We again expect a very strong opponent, but we are relaxed and ready to go."
