Moser Medical Graz99ers – Steinbach Black Wings Linz
The Moser Medical Graz99ers celebrate a double premiere in Graz as they, for the first time this season, take to the ice as league leaders and under new head coach Dan Lacroix in front of their home crowd. The Styrians are the league’s hottest team, having won eight of their last ten games, including clear victories over Bolzano and Salzburg as well as a last-minute win in Ljubljana - that took them to the top of the standings. The clash with Linz brings back memories of their epic playoff quarterfinal series, which featured six consecutive overtime games, before the Black Wings triumphed in the decisive extra frame. The Upper Austrians also won the first season meeting in OT. Linz has recovered from a rough start and recently proved its competitiveness with wins over Pustertal, Ljubljana, and most recently a 5:4 overtime victory in Villach.

HC Falkensteiner Pustertal – Pioneers Vorarlberg
After an overtime win against Vienna, Pustertal sits in second place - tied on points with Graz. The Wolves are one of the league's strongest home teams, having won their last seven games at the Intercable Arena. The Pioneers, meanwhile, suffered their sixth consecutive road defeat on Friday in Klagenfurt, conceding at least four goals in each of those games. Pustertal won the first season meeting 4:2 in Feldkirch, but the last duel in Bruneck went to the team from Vorarlberg.

Olimpija Ljubljana – FTC-Telekom
Both Olimpija and Ferencváros suffered tough losses on Friday. The Slovenians were narrowly beaten 0:1 at home by Graz, dropping from first to third place. Eighth-placed Budapest lost its second season derby against Fehérvár by a wide margin again, this time 1:6. Olimpija has scored far more goals than their upcoming opponent (100 to 60), while both teams have allowed a similar number of goals against (69 to 73). Ljubljana took a clear 7:4 road win in the first matchup of the season.

EC-KAC – EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
In Klagenfurt, the 361st Carinthian Derby will see EC-KAC looking to take revenge for their road defeat in the first duel of the season. The Red Jackets are coming off a strong 6:2 home win over the Pioneers, have found their offensive rhythm, and significantly improved their power play, picking up points in every home game since late September. The VSV travel as sixth in the standings but come from a turbulent week with two 4:5 losses and the departure of head coach Tray Tuomie. Historically, KAC holds the upper hand with 192 wins compared to VSV’s 149 (plus 19 draws from earlier times). Lately, however, the Villach side’s power play has been particularly dangerous against Klagenfurt, scoring three times in the first season meeting and maintaining a high efficiency rate since 2023. The Heidi Horten Arena is sold out for the third time this season.

HCB Südtirol Alperia – Vienna Capitals
In Bolzano, the Vienna Capitals face HCB Südtirol Alperia for the first time this season. The Caps come into the game with a point from Pustertal, showing an upward trend in performance under Kevin Constantine and benefiting from the strong form of goaltender Evan Cowley. However, they will be missing five players, including Lanzinger and several long-term injured. HCB, having won its last two games, has consolidated fifth place. With Bradley, Schneider, and McClure, Bolzano boasts several productive offensive weapons. Last season, the Foxes won three of the four matchups, and Vienna has not celebrated a road victory in the Sparkasse Arena since March 2023, suffering five consecutive losses there.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck – EC Red Bull Salzburg
EC Red Bull Salzburg travels to Innsbruck aiming to bounce back after a free Friday and a 2:5 loss to Graz, as they push toward the top-six group. Innsbruck may stand second-last in the standings, but at home the Sharks are known to trouble favorites—having already beaten Ljubljana twice and recently downed Klagenfurt in a wild 9:6 home game. While Salzburg is defensively one of the league’s most stable teams, offensively they are nearly level with Innsbruck, whose forward Owre ranks among the league’s top scorers. The Red Bulls have won the last five meetings between the two teams. A positive note for Salzburg: defenseman Philipp Wimmer could make his long-awaited league return after injury.
