Decimated KAC defeats 99ers

The EC-KAC had to give up nine players in the match against the Moser Medical Graz99ers. However, the KAC didn't let that faze them and celebrated a 4:2 home win against the Styrians after a strong start. It took the Klagenfurters less than three minutes into the match to already take a 2:0 lead. Paul Postma made it 3-0 in the middle period with his second goal of the evening. Also the captain of the KAC, Manuel Ganahl scored a brace in the 4:2 success. In the third attempt, the Klagenfurter thus managed the first win of the season over the 99ers.

Znojmo takes revenge on Vienna

HC Tesla Orli Znojmo took revenge for their defeat against the spusu Vienna Capitals at the end of December and won their second home game of the season against the Caps. The Viennese started the match better and took the lead in the first period. From the middle period on, however, the Eagles largely took control and eventually prevailed 5:3. Thus, the Czechs temporarily managed to jump back into the pre-playoff places. For the Caps, the away weakness continues this season. The Austrian capital suffered its eleventh defeat in its 18th game on the road and slipped to sixth place in the table.

Bolzano turns game against Dornbirn

The Dornbirn Bulldogs came within a whisker of a surprise against HCB Südtirol Alperia. The team from Vorarlberg was already leading 3:0 in the final period before the runner-up started to catch up. A brace from Dustin Gazley and a goal from Mike Halmo took the Foxes into overtime. There, Keegan Lowe finally provided the decision in favor of Bolzano. With this success, the South Tyroleans were able to defend their second place. For the twelve-placed Vorarlberg team, for which Colton Beck scored a brace on this evening, this was already the third defeat in a row.
