The Carinthians won their game against Tauron Metropolia Silesia 3:2 after shootout. However, this victory was not enough to advance to the playoffs. The Carinthians would have needed two wins after regulation time this weekend to qualify for the postseason. From an Austrian perspective, the remaining teams lost. The Sabres St. Pölten lost 2:6 to Aisulu Almaty, while the Salzburg Eagles were beaten 5:2 by leaders HK PSRZ Bratislava. The Graz99ers Huskies suffered even heavier defeats at EVB Eagles South Tyrol (0:7) and the KSV Highlanders lost at MAC Budapest (2:9).
