Wednesday’s two Alps Hockey League games of round 8 brought two home wins. EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated a 5:4 victory after overtime against S.G. Cortina Hafro. EC “Die Adler” Stadtwerke Kitzbühel beat Hockey Milano Rossoblu 4:2.

After four consecutive losses the EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated it’s third win of the season. They beat Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro 5:4 after overtime and booked the first win against Cortina ever. The hometeam opended the score after about four minutes. They doubled up shorthanded later in the first. But the guests managed to tie up the game in the second and were able to reduce further deficits in the second and third. Cortina used a power play situation by less than one minute to go in the last to balance the game again. Oraze secured the extra point for Zell allmost at the buzzer in the extra session.

EC “Die Adler” Stadtwerke Kitzbühl remain unbeat on their homecourt. The Tyrolese won their third homegame while beating Hockey Milano Rossoblu 4:2. The Italian side lost the sixth consecutive game of the season. Lidström opend the game for Kitzbühel with a power play goal. Soon later also Milano scored, but Havlik answered quickly to restore the lead for the Austrian side. Milano was able to tie the game again in the second, before again the “eagles” scored. Despite more shots on goal, Milano has to accept an empty netter in the end, which rounded off the score.
