The VEU Feldkirch underlined their great away performance with the 10th road win this season. They won 4:3 in the end and beat EC Bregenzerwald for the third time this season. The fans in Vorarlberg saw EC Bregenzerwald opening the score right away. After a coproduction of the Ban brothers Bernhard Fechtig netted for the hosts not even 1,5 minutes played. Despite the early lead, the guests ran some good offenses too. But they could not capitalize on two powerplay occasions and trailed one after the first period. The hosts took over command in the second period with Daniel Ban doubling up not even two minutes after the first intermission. It was all Bregenzerwald in the second having four times more shots on goal than the guests. Christian Haidinger increased the lead to 3:0 after 36 minutes. At the beginning of the third the VEU Feldkirch stroke back immediately with Christoph Draschkowitz reducing the deficit in 43rd minute. The forward netted a second on VEU’s third powerplay occasion about halfway through the last for a one-goal game in the final sixth part. The VEU became more self-confident, put a lot of pressure on ECB netminder Felix Beck and Steven Birnstill tied it about five minutes to go. And Feldkirch kept going. Smail Samardzic made the turnaround in 59th minute and gave the VEU finally a 4:3 road-win.
