Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, round 20:
Tue, 20.11.2018: KHL Medvescak Zagreb vs. Fehervar AV19 (19:15)
Referees: OFNER, PIRAGIC, Nedeljkovic, Zgonc
• KHL Medvescak Zagreb has failed to qualify for the final tournament in the IIHF Continental Cup. The Croatians have finished the semifinals with six points (two wins) out of three games behind GKS Katowice and host Belfast Giants on place three in Belfast past weekend. But, the Bears have no time for rest, they will already welcome Fehervar AV19 in their building on Tuesday.
• Each team will try to get three points to get closer to the Top 6 on Tuesday: KHL Medvescak Zagreb has earned 17 points (five wins) out of 17 EBEL-games so far and is ranked on place eleven, while the Hungarians got 23 points (eight wins) out of 19 matches so far and are ranked on place 9. A top 6 spot after 44 rounds would mean the direct Playoff-Qualification: In this moment, HC TWK Innsbruck „Die Haie“ is sixth with 29 points...
• The Hungarians will travel with new confidence and with good memories to Croatia: Daniel Koger and Co. have celebrated a 3:2-comeback-win over Dornbirn Bulldogs in their last (home-)game on Saturday and returned on the winning-street. Besides, the Devils have been successful in the first season-meeting (5:2) and they have won two straight matches in Zagreb after Overtime (3:2/OT, 4:3/OT) as well. The Croatians have earned their last home-win against Fehervar AV19 on December 9th 2012 or 2.172 days ago…
• Harri Tikkanen and Tero Koskiranta, who has scored most Assists (13) for his new club so far, will return with Fehervar AV19 for the first time as an opponent to Zagreb on Tuesday. Each Fin has played for the Bears past season.
• And watch out for Sondre Olden. The Medvescak forward has netted at least one goal in three straight meetings with Fehervar AV19.
Quotes:
Aaron Fox, Headcoach KHL Medvescak Zagreb: „We will play four games within the next ten days, three out of them infront of our fans. Our game improves day by day and the atmosphere in the team is great as well. We are looking forward to great hockey-games and wins!“
Hannu Järvenpää, Headcoach Fehervar AV19: "The win against Dornbirn can give us a lot of motivation for the next game against Zagreb. We have to work on a few things before the game on Tuesday, but I am positive that if we can fully concentrate during the whole game, we have a chance to win!“

Bozen and Salzburg must win in the CHL to step up to the Quarterfinals
EC Red Bull Salzburg and Champion HCB Südtirol Alperia will be in action in the Champions Hockey League on Tuesday. Each Erste Bank Eishockey Liga-club must win to step up to the Quarterfinals in the Champions Hockey League for the first time.
The Mozart Citizens will welcome French Champion Rouen Dragons. The first clash ended 3:3 in France two weeks ago. This means: The club winning the re-match will step up to the next round. While the Austrian Champion has been defeated in three straight Erste Bank Eishockey Liga games since the CHL-game, the French club has won all 17 matches in their national League so far. Lately, Rouen has beaten Anglet (8:3) and Mulhouse (5:0). Besides, two players of Rouen Dragons, Mathieu Roy and Alex Aleardi, have already played for EC Red Bull Salzburg in the past. “Our aim is to win the Champions Hockey League. Therefore, we must win our home-game against Rouen on Tuesday. We must be ready from the start!“, said Salzburgs defenseman Dominique Heinrich.
HCB Südtirol Alperia will travel to HC SKODA Plzen on Tuesday. The Foxes have been defeated in the first meeting (1:6) at home two weeks ago. Therefore, Bozen needs a road-win with + 6 goals to step up to the Quarterfinals in the Champions Hockey League. Bozens' Brett Findlay knows: „Plzen is a really strong team. We will give our best.“ The two teams have shown different faces in their Championships lately: While the Italians have won three consecutive road-games and have allowed just two goals, during that span, the Czech Champion from 2013 has lost three straight home-games and is ranked with 27 points (nine victories) out of 18 games in Czechs Extraliga just on place 10. On Sunday, each club has been defeated at home…
