ICE continues to fly high

The win2day ICE Hockey League wrote another success story in the 2023/24 season. While almost one million spectators visited the ice rinks, the finals set a ratings record for TV partner PULS 24. The huge interest in the league was also reflected in the social media reach.

979.298 spectators attended the 355 matches in the 2023/24 season. 814,285 fans flocked visited the ice rinks of the win2day ICE Hockey League in the regular season alone, an increase of 11.36 per cent on the previous season. Eleven out of 13 league teams were sold out at least once. The huge interest in hockey exceeded the arena capacity, especially in the season finish, with no empty seats in the last ten matches. Before the decisive final game between Klagenfurt and Salzburg, the EC-KAC announced that between 15 and 20,000 tickets could be sold for the match. The spusu Vienna Capitals (4,148 fans per game) had the highest average attendance over the entire season, ahead of the "Red Jackets" (4,123).

League sets ratings record on PULS 24
The great interest in the win2day ICE Hockey League was also reflected in the TV ratings. The final games six and seven between EC-KAC and EC Red Bull Salzburg made PULS 24 the strongest private TV channel in primetime in the entire Austrian television market. A total of over 450,000 viewers (WSK, 12+) watched both games. On Friday evening, PULS 24 achieved its highest daily market share in the station's history with 4.5 per cent (E12-49) for the decisive final match from Klagenfurt.

The pay streaming offer of the win2day ICE Hockey League was also well received once again. With over 146,000 viewers, an increase of 19.5% was achieved compared to the previous season. A club pass with all home and away games of a team in the regular season was also offered for the first time, with almost 600 fans opting for this subscription option.

Significant increase in social media reach
During this year's playoffs of the win2day ICE Hockey League, there was also a significant increase in reach on the league's social media platforms. In just under two months, a total of more than 17 million impressions were generated on the Instagram and Facebook channels, which represents an increase of almost 30% compared to the same period last year. The day of the seventh final match is particularly noteworthy, with the main social media channels recording more than 600,000 impressions. The high level of interest is also reflected in the growth in follower numbers: during the postseason, the league's social media platforms gained more than 5,000 new followers, which underlines the successful response to the intensified online presence.

Over the entire season, the league platforms achieved an impressive 48 million impressions - an increase of 15% compared to the previous season. More than 75,000 fans currently follow the channels of the win2day ICE Hockey League, which also launched a new WhatsApp channel before the start of the playoffs.
