On Sunday already the fourth game in the "best-of-7" final series of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League will take place between EC-KAC and HCB Südtirol Alperia. The South Tyroleans were able to record the first win in this series on Friday. However, they will need a show of strength on Sunday to equalize, as the KAC is still unbeaten in the 2021 playoffs on their home ice. In seven home games in the postseason, the EC-KAC prevailed just as often in regulation time.

  • HCB Südtirol Alperia managed the first win in the final series on Friday, and the Foxes could equalize on Sunday.
  • After winning five final games wins in a row across the seasons, the EC-KAC suffered its first defeat away to Bolzano on Friday night.
  • The EC-KAC remained without a goal scored in a final game for the first time since the league was founded.
  • Only once since the league was founded has a team won the final series after trailing 0:2. Only EC Red Bull Salzburg managed this feat against Black Wings Linz in 2010.
  • The Klagenfurt team converted a 2-1 lead into an eventual 4-1 victory in four of the last five occasions, only in the 2018 quarterfinals - against HCB Südtirol, of all teams - did the KAC lose the series 4-2 after this intermediate score.
  • After two rather mixed final performances by Bozen goalie Leland Irving, he shined with a shutout in game three.
  • The EC-KAC has not yet lost a single playoff home game this season. All seven games at Stadthalle Klagenfurt were won by the home team in regulation time.
  • Mike Halmo makes his debut in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League final after serving his suspension.
