ICE teams impress with convincing pre-season wins

Three teams from the win2day ICE Hockey League celebrated convincing pre-season victories on Saturday. The Vienna Capitals defeated HK Dukla Trenčín 3-0 to claim their first win of the preparation. HCB Südtirol Alperia opened the Hansjörg Brunner Memorial with a 5-0 victory, while Milano beat Asiago 5-2.

Vienna Capitals celebrate first pre-season win
The Vienna Capitals claimed their first win of the ongoing pre-season with a 3-0 victory over Slovak top-flight side HK Dukla Trenčín in front of 1,650 fans. All three goals came on the power play: Linden Vey (6th), Jérémy Grégoire (35th) and Jakob Lilja (46th) found the net, while Shane Gersich assisted on all three goals. New signing Adam Reideborn also enjoyed an impressive debut in the Capitals’ net, recording a shutout in his first appearance. Vienna will conclude its pre-season next Friday on the road against Hydro Fehérvár AV19.

Bolzano opens Brunner Memorial with 5-0 win
HCB Südtirol Alperia made a convincing start to the Hansjörg Brunner Memorial with a 5-0 victory over host HC Meran Pircher. Despite dominating the game, the Foxes had to wait until the 29th minute for Teemu Kivihalme to break the deadlock. In the final period, Turner Elson, Jakob Fuchs, Cole Schneider and Daniel Mantenuto added further goals to seal the comfortable victory. Goaltender Gianluca Costantini kept a clean sheet.

Milano beats Asiago
Milano also celebrated a convincing pre-season victory on Saturday, defeating Asiago 5-2. Nick Caamano opened the scoring in the first period and added his second goal in the middle frame. Giordano Finoro and Blake McLaughlin extended the lead to 4-0 before the second intermission. After Asiago got on the board in the third period, Nick Saracino made it 5-1. Asiago then added another goal to make it a 5-2 final.
