Masterround:
Sat, 04.02.2023, 18:00: Rittner Buam SkyAlps - Red Bull Hockey Juniors
Referees: HOLZER, VIRTA, Basso, Spiegel | >> PPV-Livestream <<

The Rittner Buam and Salzburg will meet for the first time in the Masterround on Saturday. While the South Tyroleans suffered their second defeat in a row on Thursday and dropped to fourth place, the Juniors celebrated an 8:0 thumping victory over Jesenice. It was the third win in a row for the now second-placed Red Bulls. Ritten and Salzburg have faced each other twice this season, with each team winning the home game.

Sat, 04.02.2023, 19:00: Hockey Unterland Cavaliers - HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice
Referees: BAJT, MOSCHEN, Arlic, Cristeli | >> PPV-Livestream <<

Both Unterland and Jesenice lost three of their four games in the Masterround so far, the Slovenians even conceded a 0:8 defeat in Salzburg yesterday. Contrary to the regular season, the Steelers now provide the weakest offense, scoring only six goals in four games. The South Tyroleans won two of the previous three season duels, two weeks ago they prevailed 5:3 in Jesenice.

Qualification Round A:
Sat, 04.02.2023, 19:15: Steinbach Steel Wings Linz - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Referees: BRUNNER, HLAVATY, Legat, Schonaklener | >> PPV-Livestream <<

Due to the fourth defeat in the Qualification Round (1:5 against Zell am See) a playoff participation for Linz is already far away. Sterzing, on the other hand, moved up to second place with a 7:0 win over Gardena. Now the Broncos want to gain points away from home, as they have lost five of their last six road matches. The omens before the duel with the Steel Wings are good, Sterzing won all eight AHL comparisons so far.

Sat, 04.02.2023, 19:30: EK Die Zeller Eisbären - SHC Fassa Falcons
Referees: BULOVEC, WUNTSCHEK, Voican, Weiss | >> PPV-Livestream <<

After three wins from four games in the intermediate round, the Zeller Eisbären are superior leaders of their group. On Saturday, the Pinzgau side will face the Fassa Falcons. With a win against the South Tyroleans, Zell am See can fix the pre-playoffs participation. The Italians started with three wins (conceding only five goals) and are just one point behind the top-3. The teams met twice in the regular season, with the home team getting the upper hand on each occasion.

Qualification Round B:
Sat, 04.02.2023, 19:30: EC Bregenzerwald - EC-KAC Future Team
Referees: LEGA, SORAPERRA, Müller, Rinker | >> PPV-Livestream <<

With the third win in a row (4:1 at the direct competitor in Meran) Bregenzerwald climbed to third place. Klagenfurt took only two points from four games in the intermediate round, so the Carinthians are under pressure. While the KAC scored only four goals in four games, the Vorarlberg team showed solid defense (five goals conceded in three matches). The two previous duels of the season went to Bregenzerwald.

Sat, 04.02.2023, 20:00: EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - EHC Lustenau
Referees: GIACOMOZZI, KAINBERGER, Huber, J. Seewald | >> PPV-Livestream <<

On Saturday, the top match in the qualification group B will take place in the Sportpark Kitzbühel. The hosts will meet leader EHC Lustenau. With one game more than their direct competitor from Tyrol, the Vorarlberg team, which is still unbeaten in the intermediate round, leads the table with twelve points. EHC coach Philipp Winzig will again have to make some line changes. In addition to the long-term injured Leon Schmeiser and Dominik Oberscheider, there are big question marks behind the appearances of goalkeeper Erik Hanses, Kevin Puschnik and Philipp Koczera. Kitzbühel won two of three season duels.

McGowan leaves Gardena
The Hockey Club Gherdëina announced that Canadian Brad McGowan is leaving the club. The former league MVP has accepted an offer from abroad and will not be available to coach Marco Liberatore for the rest of the season.
