Innsbruck delivered the big surprise at the end of the seventh round, defeating Graz 3:2 in a shootout to celebrate their second win of the season. The 99ers lived up to their role as favorites early on when Chris Collins opened the scoring after just 83 seconds. Despite controlling the game, Graz could not pull away. Returnee Lukas Bär tied the game in the 30th minute, before Marcus Vela restored the visitors’ lead with a solo effort. Six seconds before the end of regulation, Cole Moberg forced overtime with the late equalizer. Innsbruck thought they had already won it in OT, but a goal by Sebastian Benker was overturned. In the shootout, however, the Haie sealed the deal with goals from Benker and Steve Owre.

HC Pustertal earned a 5:4 overtime win on the road in Vienna. The Capitals struck first through Maximilian Theirich, but the Wolves replied in the second period. Cole Bardreau tied the game on the powerplay, only for Linden Vey to put Vienna back ahead, also with the man advantage. Jonathon Blum quickly equalized before Tommy Purdeller and Alan Lobis gave Pustertal a 4:2 lead. Vienna battled back with goals from Mitch Hults and Zane Franklin to force overtime, but Markus Lauridsen provided the game-winner in the extra frame. With this win, Pustertal climbed to third place in the standings, just two points behind leaders Ljubljana.
