Nick Albano strengthens the defense of the HC Tiroler Wasserkraft Innsbruck. The 26-year-old US-American was last active with Västerås IK in the HockeyAllsvenskan (26 games). The EC Red Bull Salzburg also signed a new defender in Ryan Murphy. The 30-year-old Canadian has a total of 176 NHL games and 121 KHL games on his resume. In addition, the HC Pustertal announced the signing of 21-year-old forward Manuel Öhler and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey extended the contract with Gregorio Gios.

The US American Nick Albano spent his last professional seasons in the American Hockey League and East Coast Hockey League. Last winter, the 26-year-old moved to Europe for the first time. The defenseman played over twenty games in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan for Västerås IK.

NHL and KHL experienced defenseman for Salzburg
Ontario-born defenseman Ryan Murphy started his career in the OHL, where he earned personal honors as a junior, including Most Points by Defensemen at the 2011 U18 World Championship with Team Canada. Still in his final OHL season with the Kitchener Rangers (2012/13), he made his NHL debut with the Carolinian Hurricanes, playing in four games. In subsequent years through the 2016/17 season, Murphy alternated playing with the Carolina Hurricanes and the Charlotte Checkers AHL team. He also played with the Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils NHL teams from 2017 to 2019. In total, the defenseman finished with 8 goals and 35 assists in 176 games in the best league in the world. In 2019, Murphy moved to Russia to play in the KHL. In total, he played 121 games in the KHL, scoring 14 goals and 35 assists. Last season, the Canadian played for Salavat Yulaev Ufa.

Pustertal signs Manuel Öhler
The HC Pustertal signed the 21-year-old Manuel Öhler. For the forward it is the first transfer of his career. So far, the left-shooter played exclusively for the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. In 164 Alps Hockey League games, Öhler recorded 64 points.

Gregorio Gios stays with Asiago
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey extended the contract with defender Gregorio Gios. For the 24-year-old Italian international it will be the third season in a row with his hometown club. Gios was also active in the youth for the team from Veneto.
