Sharks and Caps extend run
HC TIWAG Innsbruck prevailed against EC Grand Immo VSV after overtime on Friday, extending their winning streak to seven games. For the Sharks, this is the longest streak since the 2002/03 season. The Eagles were able to go ahead in the encounter, but the Tyroleans acted more efficiently in the final phase. Timothy Mc Gauely finally provided the decision in overtime.

The spusu Vienna Capitals celebrated a hard-fought 3:2 overtime victory over the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. This was the fifth win in a row for the Viennese - currently the second-longest winning streak after the Sharks. However, this success had to be worked hard for. After the early opening goal, the Viennese went ahead once again, but always had to concede the equalizer. After a scoreless overtime, Caps top scorer Nicolai Meyer provided the only goal in the shootout for the decision. This is the first time this season that the Caps are among the top 6 teams in the league.

Graz and KAC end losing streaks
For the first time since December 2019, the EC-KAC remained without points for three games - the reigning champions were able to end this negative streak on Friday with a 4:3 overtime win against Dornbirn. However, the guests from Vorarlberg had the better start and opened the scoring. Still in the first period, the Klagenfurters struck back three times. The Bulldogs managed to equalize in the middle period before Simeon Schwinger brought his team into overtime with just under three minutes to go. There, defender Clemens Unterweger provided the decision for the KAC with his first goal of the season. The Bulldogs suffered their sixth defeat in a row and slipped into the "danger zone" in the standings.

The Moser Medical Graz99ers managed to win against HCB Südtirol Alperia for the first time after three defeats. The runner-up of the previous season was even dispatched with a 4:0 shutout. For the Styrians, two players were able to put their stamp on the game. While Niklas Lundström celebrated his first shutout in his seventh game, Andrew Gordon convinced the offense with a hat trick. With this success, the 99ers reduced the gap in the standings to the top-10 to three points.

Fehérvár defends 2nd place | Salzburg closes gap to top-3
While Hydro Fehérvár AV19 defended their second place in the standings with an overtime win, EC Red Bull Salzburg managed to reduce the gap to the top-3 teams with a full victory. However, the Hungarians had to accept an early deficit in the game against HC Pustertal. The high-scoring game finally went into overtime at 4:4. There Andrew Sarauer found the decider with his second goal of the evening. The South Tyroleans have not been able to win for nine games now and share the bottom of the table with Steinbach Black Wings Linz.

EC Red Bull Salzburg had less trouble as guests of Tesla Orli Znojmo. The Salzburgers also had to accept an early deficit, but ignited the turbo in the first period. The three youngsters Jakub Borzecki, Oskar Maier and Paul Huber provided the turnaround with their first goals of the season. For Borzecki and Maier, these were even their first goals in a professional game. The visitors from Salzburg finally won 5:2 and reduced the gap to the top 3 to two points.
