The 19-year-old was part of the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL for the past three seasons. In Canada's top junior league, Peeters played 107 games and recorded 36 goals and 32 assists. Prior to that, the dual Austrian-Belgian citizen also played in the Red Bull Academy and in the United States.

"We are all happy! For me, Senna is one of the strongest domestic young players after Marco Rossi (Iowa Wild) and Marco Kasper (Rögle BK) in general. We will have a lot of fun together, I'm sure," commented HC TIWAG Innsbruck General Manager Assistant Max Steinacher on the transfer coup. According to a statement from the Tyroleans, "almost the entire league wanted to sign Peeters".

For Peeters, who took part in the last World Championships with the Austrian U20 team, it is the first professional contract: "Innsbruck has made a lot of effort for me from the beginning. The talks with those responsible gave me confidence and showed me that I will feel at home with the Sharks. The HCI is the best club for me to take my first steps in professional hockey. I have learned a lot in the three years in Canada. I want to learn from the experienced players, develop myself further, and do my own part to help HC TIWAG Innsbruck reach its sporting goals."
