HC TIWAG Innsbruck are back on top of the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Tyroleans defeated Asiago 5:2 in front of their home crowd on Friday, becoming the first team to crack the 100-goal mark this season. A quick 2:0 lead made it look like a clear affair for the home side, but Asiago hit back in the middle period. The Italians equalised with goals from Saracino (22.) and McShane (30./PP). But Innsbruck quickly had an answer ready and Daniel Leavens promptly put them ahead again. Brady Shaw restored the two-goal lead 29 seconds before the end of the period with Innsbruck's 100th goal this season. Although Asiago challenged the Innsbruck team throughout the entire game, they also lost their third duel of the season. Simon Bourque scored an empty netter to make the final score 5:2.

Decimated KAC defeats Salzburg
Due to numerous absences, the KAC had only 13 katers in their home game against Salzburg. Nevertheless, the decimated Klagenfurt team got off to the better start and took the lead in the tenth minute through Manuel Ganahl. David Maier followed up for the home side, going five-hole on Salzburg goalkeeper David Kickert to give the Redcoats a two-goal lead.

In the middle period, the visitors had more of the game. With goals from Genoway (28.) and Lewington (40.) the Salzburgers, with Peter Schneider playing his 200th league game, even got the equaliser. In the third period, the reigning champions were unable to convert their advantage into goals, and the game went into overtime at 2:2. In this overtime, Kickert saved his team from defeat for a long time with great saves, but finally Lucas Lessio finished off a 1 on 0 situation for the home victory.

Away wins for Pustertal and Linz
Although the Moser Medical Graz99ers dictated the game in the opening third against HC Pustertal, it went into the first intermission goalless. In the middle period the guests were very efficient: Deluca (27th) scored from the slot for 1:0 and Archambault (35th) used a rebound for 2:0. The Styrians did not give up and Andrew Yogan (39.PP) pulled one back with an onetimer. Graz also had chances in the third period, but could not overcome Pustertal goalie Sholl. Harju scored an empty netter for the 3:1 final score, so the team from Bruneck celebrated a victory after three defeats.

A varied game with several lead changes was seen by the fans at the Tivoli, where Ljubljana took the lead against Steinbach Black Wings Linz through Rok Kapel. After 21 minutes the score was 3-3, with Linz scoring two goals while shorthanded. In the last minutes of the middle period the Upper Austrians finally set the course for victory through goals by Bretschneider (36th) and St-Amant (39th). The Slovenians tried everything in the last period, but failed again and again against Linz goalie Tirronen. Only 24 seconds before the end the home side came within one goal. However, this was not enough and the Steel City team secured the three points.
