No less than seven games are scheduled in the win2day ICE Hockey League on Friday and Saturday. After the sensational 3:1 victory in the Champions Hockey League Round of 16 first leg against defending champion Rögle BK (SWE), win2day ICE Hockey League defending champion EC Red Bull Salzburg will be challenged again in the domestic league on Friday. For the first time the Red Bulls will meet league newcomer BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg. In the standings, third-placed RBS and last-placed PIV are currently separated by 22 points. With six league wins from the past seven games, Salzburg is also in excellent shape. They were only beaten 1:0 in Bolzano before the international break. It was only the second match of the season in which they failed to score a goal. The Pioneers, on the other hand, have lost each of their last five games. Overall, they have only three wins out of 16 games so far this season. The big problem for the team from Feldkirch is their offense. With just 29 goals scored, they have the weakest offense in the league. The Red Bulls, by comparison, have 48 goals scored this season.

The EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV worked their way up to fifth place with recent strong results, on Tuesday they beat league leader Bolzano 6:3. Both teams are separated by eight points. With 68 goals scored, Innsbruck has the best offense in the league, but they have also conceded 55 goals, which is the third highest in the league. The first season duel between the "Sharks" and "Eagles" was already a high-scoring game, which Villach won 6:5 after overtime.

Not even 24 hours after their assignments on Friday, HK SZ Olimpija and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - The Sharks are already challenged again on Saturday. Both teams meet for the second time this season. Innsbruck decided the first meeting of the season clearly in their favor with 5:2. It was their fifth win in the fifth ICE duel with the Slovenians. Should the "Sharks" win against Villach on Friday as well as against Olimpija on Saturday, they would at least draw level with leaders Bolzano in the standings.
