Innsbruck, Pioneers and Villach strengthen their defence

EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, HC TIWAG Innsbruck and the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have strengthened their defences. Patrick Holway joins Villach. While Innsbruck also signed a Canadian in Garrett McFadden, the Swede Jacob Lundegård moved to Feldkirch.

Patrick Holway will play for EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV in the coming win2day ICE Hockey League season. The 27-year-old (195 cm, 100 kg) is considered a tough defender who has played in the AHL and ECHL in recent years. During the past season, Holway moved to Europe for the first time and was on the ice for HC Slovan Bratislava, recording ten points in 13 games.

Innsbruck signs Garrett McFadden
Garrett McFadden is the next new arrival at HC TIWAG Innsbruck. After the now 26-year-old initially caused a sensation in the Ontario Hockey League with his team Guelph Storm, he gained further experience in the East Coast Hockey League and the American Hockey League before McFadden made the leap to Europe last year. The Canadian also impressed in the top leagues in Slovakia (HK Poprad) and the Czech Republic (HC Energie Karlovy Vary).

Swedish newcomer in Feldkirch
The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have signed the experienced Swedish defenceman Jacob Lundegård. The 27-year-old has had an impressive career in the HockeyAllsvenskan, where he played for eight seasons and spent the last four years as assistant captain at Tingsryds AIF. With his experience, he is expected to play a key role in the Pioneers' defence.
